Barcode UPCA, which is often used in retail due to its easy to scan simple numerical code.
Useful in product identification.
1:50 Encoding Options: Magstripe
Magstripe cards include a magnetic strip on the back, which are used to encode data.
Magstripes can be either Hico or Loco, standing for high or low coercivity.
Coercivity refers to how much magnetic energy needs to be exerted to encode, reprogram, or erase the card.
HiCo cards are the most common magstripe type because they can be used for long term and secure applications.
Due to the high threshold of magnetism needed to erase them.
LoCo cards are typically used for short-term applications, including hotel room keys and season passes for theme parks, amusement parks, and water parks.
Since they require less magnetism to be programmed, they can be accidentally erased.
Consider carefully what you would like to use your card for and how long you need it to last.
