 U.S. Tariff Escalation Timeline
    •    February 1, 2025: The Trump administration imposed an initial 10% tariff on Chinese imports.  
    •    March 3, 2025: An additional 10% tariff was added, bringing the cumulative tariff rate to 20%.  
    •    April 2, 2025: A significant 34% tariff increase was announced, raising the total tariff rate to 54% on Chinese goods.  
    •    April 9, 2025: In response to China’s retaliatory tariffs, the U.S. escalated tariffs by an additional 71%, bringing the total to 125%.
    •    April 10, 2025: The White House clarified that an extra 20% “fentanyl tariff” was also applied, resulting in a combined tariff rate of 145% on Chinese imports.
  1. May 12, 2025: USA & China Trade Deal Reached - Paused 90 days, reduction of 115% on tariff. This is going into effect on May 14th, 2025, resulting in 10% tariff + 20% tariff for fentanyl for a combined of 30% tariff on top of original HTS tariff.
