Why do I have to sign the Prop 65 Agreement?

Why do I have to sign the Prop 65 Agreement?

Question: Why do I have to sign the Prop 65 Agreement?

Answer: By signing the Prop 65 Agreement, you are simply agreeing that you will not remove the warning stickers that are required for the state of California to provide information regarding the materials used to produce the product.

Should products featuring warnings be avoided?
No! Nothing about our products has changed. We're required to label products if they have any amounts of a chemical that is on the OEHHA Prop 65 Chemical List which has over 900 chemicals.

The goal of Proposition-65 isn’t to prevent consumers from using certain goods. Instead, per California’s OEHHA, Proposition-65 is meant “to notify consumers that they are being exposed to chemicals that are known [to the state of California] to cause cancer and/or reproductive toxicity.”

However, the OEHHA goes on to say that a Proposition-65 warning “does not necessarily mean a product is in violation of any product-safety standards or requirements.”

Unless you are ingesting for example our nickel plated metal crimp or attachment on your lanyard, you have nothing to worry about. This only applies to compounds ingested or breathed in very high levels.
